2035 Vision for Community Health & Public Safety

Community Health and Public Safety icon

Our community is a safe place to live and supports lifelong active and healthy living. We have excellent public safety response systems that work together with an involved community to ensure peace and safety. There are opportunities for active lifestyles and to obtain locally grown food that promotes the health and social interaction of our residents.

The Community Health & Public Safety action area addresses energy & climate change, local food access, bnatural disasters and hazards, city services, extension of public facilities, and public facilities. It updates the several goals in the existing Comprehensive Plan. Please see below for details on these goals.

What Have We Done So Far?

Each Action Area’s Goals and Polices go through a series of steps involving public involvement and comment, various review processes by different commissions and councils, and lastly, approval by the City Council. The graphic below shows where this action area is in the process.
