As the name implies, the City’s Comprehensive Plan includes all areas for which the city needs planning. The topics and issues addressed are interrelated pieces that cannot be considered without looking at their relationship to each other, and to the whole.
The seven action areas listed at the left set a framework for discussion about the Lake Oswego community. Broader than the chapters of the existing Comprehensive Plan, the action areas tie together diverse topics that relate to common themes and systems. For example, emergency services, toxics and natural hazards all contribute to Healthy People. Within this framework, the community will help to set broad goals, specific policies, and detailed implementation strategies for each action area. The result will be just that: action that city leaders and citizens help to achieve, track, measure, and celebrate.
