Since the We Love Lake Oswego project was launched in July 2010, over 1,600 Lake Oswego community members have joined together to begin updating the City’s Comprehensive Plan. Thank you for sharing what you love about Lake Oswego today, and what you want the community to be 25 years from now.
From this input and discussion at over 85 meetings and events, the Lake Oswego Community Vision for 2035 and the 2035 Vision Map were drafted to guide the Plan update.
As the 3-year process moves into year 2, the project’s Citizen Advisory Committee will ask the community what goals and policies are needed to realize the Community Vision for 2035.
Stay tuned for upcoming summits in winter and spring 2012!
What else have we been up to? Over the past 12 months, the Citizen Advisory Committee and project team have worked on:
* Community Vision (tested through a statistically valid survey) that reflects the community values and describes where the community wants to be in 25 years
* Conceptual land use scenario that describes in words and illustrates how and where the community should grow over the next 25 years
* Technical and background data for the Economic Development (Goal 9) and Housing (Goal 10)
* Lake Oswego Demographic Report
* 2035 population, housing and employment forecast ranges for theCity’s Urban Services Boundary;
* Sustainability Framework to help inform the update process
